The winter period can be difficult for some; especially if you’re feeling isolated, worried about money, anxious or overwhelmed with stress. As the colder days and darker nights continue, our communities may be looking for support.
Northamptonshire’s free confidential mental wellbeing service – IAPT Talking Therapies Northants, provided by Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT) and led by the outcomes pillar of NHCP’s Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism programme – is waiting to work with anyone over the age of 17 and a half and living in our county to offer support.
Anne Rackham, Director of Mental Health at NHFT, said: “Winter may be a little more difficult this year, after a difficult year for many due to COVID and trying to get back to some sense of normal life. As Northamptonshire’s community provider of mental health services, we are dedicated to ensuring that our communities know that there is support available to them and it is okay not to be okay.
“Our trained friendly colleagues are on hand to offer support to anyone facing mental health problems this winter, and help you to get back on track. I would encourage anyone who is experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, isolation or financial worries to get in touch today to find out how we can support them.”
The IAPT Talking Therapies Northants service is now offering a free live webinar to adults across the county where colleagues will discuss practical advice and guidance for how you can look after your mental health during these difficult and uncertain times.
The session aims to give you some tried and tested exercises and tools to help you boost your wellbeing and provide you with information about the free NHS support service.
You can access the service yourself online here or via the phone on 0300 999 1616 (9 to 5 weekdays). The team provides advice, offers support and helps put the right techniques in place to help you get back to feeling like you again.
