An artist’s impression of how a redeveloped Kettering General Hospital could look

Kettering General Hospital has been working up exciting plans for the redevelopment of the hospital through phase two of the government’s Health Infrastructure Plan (HIP2).

After a period of extensive engagement and involvement with clinical, service and patient representatives from both within and outside the trust, KGH is now offering colleagues from partner organisations the opportunity to see and comment on its plans for the first phase of redevelopment.

The first phase plans include:

  • A new Urgent Care Hub including Minor Injuries and Minor Illness, Majors and Fit to Sit, Resuscitation and Rapid Access to Treatment (RATs), Diagnostics and separate Paediatric Emergency accommodation;
  • Same Day Emergency Care facilities for Medicine and Surgery alongside Medical and Surgical Assessment Units and a Frailty Unit;
  • Generic Ward Accommodation.

The KGH engagement event will provide the background to the project and show how the design and layout of the new facility supports the trust’s integrated care models. The online session will be through Microsoft Teams. If you would like to attend, please email
