Kettering – Friday 5 June to Sunday 7 June 2020
Northampton – Sunday 7 June to Tuesday 9 June 2020

Mobile Testing Units (MTU) will be operating in Kettering and Northampton in support of the COVID-19 National Testing Programme from Friday 5 June through to Tuesday 7 June.

Testing is by appointment only. Appointments can be made online at www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested.

The mobile units are only in a location for a few days, with the Kettering site in operation from Friday until Sunday and the Northampton site operating from Sunday until Tuesday.

The sites have an integrated one-way system that allows people with an appointment to attend for either walk-in or drive through testing.

The eligibility criteria for tests include anyone with coronavirus symptoms (new, continuous cough; high temperature; loss of or change in sense of smell or taste).

Essential workers will be given a priority.

More guidance can be found at www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested#who-can-be-tested.

For tests to be effective you must be symptomatic. More on the symptoms of COVID-19 can be found at www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/check-if-you-have-coronavirus-symptoms.

Cllr Jonathan Nunn, Leader of Northampton Borough Council, said; “Testing is a vital part of tackling this dreadful virus and the COVID-19 Mobile Testing Units, which are available in Kettering and Northampton respectively over the coming days, will provide residents who are experiencing symptoms with the opportunity to be tested locally.

“Tests are available by appointment only to anyone who is symptomatic – so that means a new, continuous cough, a high temperature or a loss or change in their sense of taste or smell.

“To book an appointment please visit the government website at www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested. Once you have booked you will be given the location of the testing site and details of how to get there.”
