A new recruitment campaign has been launched in Northamptonshire to employ the county’s first social prescribing link workers working in our Primary Care Networks.

Link workers are central to the success of social prescribing, as they are responsible for creating and maintaining the link between the prescribed services and the person benefiting from the prescription.

Their job is to work with the individual to develop a personal plan to suit their particular needs, connect them with the relevant services and then offer the support and advice the person needs to complete their social prescription.

The recruitment campaign is being led by Northamptonshire’s Clinical Commissioning Groups and Local Workforce Advisory Board in partnership with Best of Both Worlds and began on 1 July.

Its aim is to recruit social prescribing link workers to all of our county’s Primary Care Networks, which are now up and running in Northamptonshire (see page 2).

This will be followed up with further recruitment later in the year to support the launch of NHCP’s county-wide social prescribing scheme.

Full details of the new link worker vacancies – including how to apply – are available by clicking here.

The deadline for applications is 21 July 2019.
